Why can't I update my android version?

I get a prompt of process failed when I try to update the android version of my Samsung C9 pro.

What version is it running currently? I see that as upgradable to Oreo and that's it according to one website. What model number specifically - SM-C900Y, SM-C900F, SM-C9008 or SM-C9000?

Also, has the phone been rooted, have a custom ROM or been modified in any other way? You can only update a stock ROM.

I go to settings, software updates, download updates manually

Try clearing cache in recovery and then start and try again to update.

Looks like that model has gotten OS updates. Not sure why your hasn't...

Welcome to Android Central! Was this an unlocked version, or was it originally sold directly by a carrier?

This is a Chinese device. If you are not in China you will not get OTA update. Try Smart Switch or download the ROM from SAMMobile and flash using Odin
