Why can't my S7 Edge be given the fingerprint?

why can't my s7 edge be given fingerprint?

I've already pressed add fingerprint, and when I tried to put my finger on the button, it stayed the same. What should I do? I judt said place finger on home key. I've restarted a couple of times. Please help me

I don't know about the S7, but on earlier Samsungs, so far as I know, you have to swipe the pad of your finger down across the sensor.

On the S7 you place your finger on the button, lift and place it back down on with a slightly different part of your finger & repeat You don't swipe.

This enables it to build a complete picture so it doesn't matter how you put your finger on to unlock

Are you using Nova or the stock launcher? If you have Nova set as an administrator on your phone, that's the cause of the problem.
