Why can't people hear me?

[Android Central Question]

A strange (and very specific) problem! If I have Bluetooth on on my phone and a device is paired to it then if someone calls me they cannot hear me. This is always the case if the Bluetooth is paired but I answer normally on my phone. It only sometimes happens if I answer using the paired Bluetooth device (I haven't managed to get to the bottom of when it does/doesn't happen in this sinario.) Additionally, when I answer the call using the phone I can put it on speaker and they can then hear me, then if I take it off speaker and go back to using the phone normally then they can still hear me! I have checked out all settings etc and can find nothing. I have also contacted Vodafone (it's a Vodafone Smart X9) to no avail. Help!

Have you cheked the microphone?

Welcome to Android Central! What kinds of Bluetooth devices are you referring to? Go to Settings>Bluetooth​ and select those devices. If they have a Phone Audio option, turn that off.
