Why did animated gifs stop working on my phone after the 6.0.1 update?

I am unable to receive animated gifs that play properly. I can send them and everyone says they work fine. If the other person goes through the fb messenger to send a gif then I can see it play. I've tried multiple APN and MMS Behavior settings. I've tried multiple apps. I've done a factory reset on my phone, nothing works. They were working on the same phone and same network. The only thing that changed was the updated OS. Any ideas why it would have stopped all of the sudden?

Which phone/device are you using? Which apps aren't animating the gifs?

I have a Samsung S6. The gifs don't play in any of the SMS apps I've tried, including the stock app. I've was using textra with the System MMS behavior when they worked before.
