Why did everything disappear from note 8 secure folder?

I opened my note 8 secure folder last night and everything was gone, it doesn't make any sense, all the apps like samsung notes and my gallery just all disappeared. Has anyone else had this happen or have any idea how to deal with this?

I know Secure Folder has a backup option, that might be good to use while figuring out what may have caused the folder to disappear in the first place.

I've seen people say that there secure folder dissappeared but that's not what happened in my case. The folder is there it just deleted everything that was inside it on its own. It's crazy when you put your most important stuff in that folder thinking it's safer than anywhere else and then something like this happens, it's very frustrating.

Going to settings and make sure secure / private folder is turned on your stuff May reappear then assuming your password protected

Yeah it's turned on and I've always had it set up with pin, fingerprint, and iris protection. The last time I used it I moved a bunch of samsung notes I wanted to secure and then the next time I opened it up everything was gone like I had even never used it. My pin, fingerprint, and iris protection was still set up but everything in it was deleted.

everything from my secure folder is also gone, and none of the apps show available for me to re add.......yes i can still move new or old pictures to my secure folder, just no idea where they are going as there is no gallery app in secure folder for me to open

ok, so i went to google play store, found secure folder under all apps, clicked on the un-install button, then an update button showed up, clicked update, then open, and everything was there again, including all my pics, notes, and additional apps~
