After using the Mate 9 for a month I wonder why they offered the PRO.

Screen -- Mate 9 is great
Speed -- my mate 9 is as fast as I need
Battery -- great
Storage -- 64gb plus SD is more than I need.

What do you think???

I think the Pro is for those who want a smaller sized model & have a high standard as far as screen display (1440p vs 1080p). But in defense of the Mate 9, among 1080p displays, it's excellent. Also you're eyes won't know the difference (1080p vs 1440p) unless you like to have your smartphones unreasonably close to your face lol.

You're also getting a better screen to body ratio w/ the Mate 9 compared to the Pro version, meaning more screen in comparison to the overall size of the phone.

If you like your phones the size of the Mate 9 (the iphone plus & Nexus 6p are also the same size but w/ a smaller screen), which I do also, it's the best Note 7 replacement imho (some may make an argument for the V20, but why pay a couple hundred more for the V20?)

Inevitably I agree w/ you though & imho think you have nothing to worry about & made a great choice :)

I got the Mate 9 Pro because Daydream compatibility. If the Mate 9 had it, I would have stuck with it. But I am now regretting getting the Pro because it appears to be hard to get updates outside the region the phone was originally intended for.

What I have learned is only buy what the phone works with and what carriers offer those that support for the
bands

For VR, it's a Daydream ready phone and has a 1440P display. I agree the screen on the regular Mate 9 is more than sufficient and superb for everything else though.
