Why did my Android Auto stop connecting to my GM car when my smartphone was upgraded to Android 6.0.1?

My Android Auto stopped connecting to my GM car when my smartphone was upgraded to Android 6.0.1

Phone is a Note 5, car is 2016 Chevy Volt. The App has been working fine up to the upgrade.

Try booting in to recovery and wiping the cache partition. Also try forgetting the connection to the car and then re setting it up.

Samsung implementation of Marshmallow + AA has documented issues. I'm willing to wager it's a security level issue.
