Android Central Question

I had an older phone (Samsung J3 Prime if I remember correctly) I was on a camping trip with my family and it was around 6 pm. I was on a comic reading app known as Webtoon and in the middle of the comic my phone froze up so I waited for it to unfreeze but it never did. Instead it restarted itself and I was very confused till it was trying to make me sign into the whole entire phone again. I lost everything like contacts, photos, and anything else to do with social media. I have no idea why my phone did this but when I went up to T-Mobile, They said that I self manually did it myself. Which of course i didn't I have no idea how but they said it has steps to put it into factory mode so there is no way that it randomly did it. So to this day I still have no idea why it did this.

Did you back up your photos to Google Photos? If so, you should still have them. If not, in the future it would be best to back up your photos to Google Photos, OneDrive or some other cloud service so you don't lose them.

It is also best to store your contacts in your Google account, not locally on a phone for the same reason.

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like a catastrophic glitch that caused a factory reset. Sorry, but this has been known to happen from time to time, especially on an older budget phone. This is why it's important to back up or sync your important information on a regular basis.
