why did my video shoot upside down on S6

I have been using Samsungs for a long time and I have never seen this happen before.
I shot videos and stills at Easter all of them are upside down in both the display and playback on the phone also uploaded to google photos ! I could easily rotate the stills back to correct orientation but the videos are "stuck" upside down!
I have tried to recreate the problem by holding my phone each way and the videos are fine with the camera held either way.
1. can I fix the videos?
2 why did this happen?

Which way did you rotate the phone before starting the camera?

Were the videos taken in landscape or portrait orientation? Was Auto-Rotate turned off or on?

I know that if you upload a video to YouTube, you can edit the orientation there. There's probably video editing apps or software that can edit the orientation on the file itself, but I've never looked for one.
