Why do Facebook posts cut off?

Since June 7, all posts in my Facebook feed display only one line of text in the body of each post. Photos, however, display completely. I have an older (2015) LG G4 with Android v.6. It's not a problem with my Facebook account; everything displsays normally. I've found that other apps are now incompatible with my phone; is this going to happen with Facebook?

Facebook messenger no longer works on Android 5, not sure where the main Facebook app is at for compatibility but eventually it will no longer function on your phone. Could be months, could be years, but it will happen at some point once they make a feature a required part of the app that isn't compatible with old Android versions.

I'd be more concerned with the fact a phone that old is no longer secure or protected by security updates, unless you don't do much on the phone.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to have to get a new service plan soon, so I will probably have to get a new 5G phone, anyway. However, I really like the G4; it seems to be indestructible, and I much prefer having a replaceable battery.

My dad had a G4, it was a great phone but unfortunately his got hit with the reboot issue caused by a poor soldering connection when it was about 2 years old.

In the meantime, you could always use the Facebook mobile website on your browser.

Thanks, it works! I never would have thought of this. The UI is a little different, and I don't seem to be able to save photos from Facebook, but at least I can see the entire text in posts.

Mine has been through hell - I even threw it through a window once! I would like to replace it, but with gas @ $5.50 and beer @ $10.00 a six-pack, I'm probably going to have to wait.

Can always screen shot and crop the image if you need to save it.

I've been having the same problem on both my tablet tablet and phone. Each of these are about 6 years old. I tried on an older lg phone and had no problem. I ended up downloading Facebook lite and so far that's working. Going to get a new phone soon.

That's a good alternative and also not a battery hog as regular Facebook app, can try web browser also.
