Why do I get soam on my androud phone but not on my desktop?

On my phone I use the natve Samsung email client. On my desktop I use Outlook. I use a POP account. I have set up serverside spam filters. The filters work well on my desktop, but seemingly not at all on my phone.

Are you using a personal account or a work account or both in your desktop Outlook software? What version of Outlook are you using? Is this happening with multiple accounts or only a particular account?

Welcome to Android Central! Can you use IMAP instead? I wonder if POP3 makes the spam filter not work on the phone.
