on my phone in the last 3-4 months I'm consantly updating my apps why

If the developer finds a little bug, he'll fix it and there's an update. If someone asks for a change, he'll do it and there's an update. There are lots of reasons for updates. (Some apps are known as "version of the week - and some "weeks" are only a day or 2 long.) If you have enough apps on the phone, it seems as if there are updates every day. Turn off automatic updates in the Play Store app. If the app works for you, and you don't need the "improvement", don't update it. (Sometimes updating is a bad idea. Maps used to be a great app - until Google "improved" it to uselessness, until MyDirections came out.)
