Audio Pausing/Un-Pausing Randomly

I thought I posted this previously, but I can't find my thread. I am not sure if I forgot to hit "Submit" or if the moderators took it down? I am going to try again.

I love my S6 but I have one problem. The audio randomly pauses or un-pauses. At first I thought this was a Blue Tooth problem but it happens with corded headphones too. I use BT in my car, with a Monster speaker and Arctic headphones. I'll be listing to the Audible App audio book, or Pandora or my own music through the native music app and the sound will just stop. I have to hit play to continue. It could be 2 minutes after I start the play or 45 minutes. It usually happens once or twice an hour. This can be really bad while listening to the good part of a book in heavy traffic and you have to look down to find the play button to start it again.

The audio will also just randomly start playing whatever the last audio app was that I used. My phone will be in my pocket or on a table, not being touched, and the audio will start. Again, with an audio book this is especially bad as I have seriously lost my place in a book when the audio started in a noisy location and I didn't notice until several chapters had gone by. It is also a problem at work when I'll walk out of the room and come back and my phone is blasting and my coworkers are standing around trying to make it stop. Un-pausing happens less frequently than the pausing does, but it happens at least once or twice a day. Frustrating.

Please let me know if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a solution or work-around?

Re: Audio Pausing/Un-Pausing Randomly

I have had this happen only on the stock Music player and it happened on my S3 and now less so on my S6. I always thought it was do to some movement of the phone as it only seems to happen when I am doing something active like walking around or working in the yard. Sorry I do not have any resolution but I am certainly interested like you!

Re: Audio Pausing/Un-Pausing Randomly

I experience this problem with all audio applications (minimum of three that I use regularly). At first I thought it was the screen lock kicking in and requiring a fingerprint to unlock, but I learned that was not always the case.

Desperate to find a solution.

YES !! Driving me nuts ... Any of the Music apps have this issue. I also at first thought it was a Bluetooth issue ... it is NOT ... This happens randomly for me as well. Someone else suggested that if you have the COMCAST XFINITY CONNECT app installed that it COULD be causing the interference. I have it installed but haven't tried removing it to see if the problem goes away. Do you have that app installed??

Re: Audio Pausing/Un-Pausing Randomly

Just started having this problem with Google Music. I thought it was a short in my headphones at first. I was forced to do a factory reset yesterday so hopefully I don't run into it again.

** THAT'S IT!! **

After reading this about a week ago, I uninstalled the Xfinity app, and this constant annoyance has ceased.

I can live without the Xfinitity app a whole lot better than I can with media players randomly stopping ... and worse, starting at the worst possible times.

It's definitely Xfinity. ANYTHING Xfinity, apparently. Not one occurrence of this annoyance for months after uninstalling their voicemail app.

In a moment of temporary insanity, I installed the Xfinity "TV anywhere" app, and sure enough, I started getting random starts of the DoggCatcher podcast player, and Google Play, TuneIn Radio, and other media players.

It is now uninstalled, and I'm not installing Xfinity ANYTHING on my phone ever again.

I've had the pausing problem for months now, but I don't have any xfinity apps, so I'm not sure how to fix it from here?
