Why do I have some apps that won't load over wifi?

some apps wont load over wifi

I recently updated my s5 to 4.4.4 and now apps such as snapchat, facebook, and instagram wont load. Chrome and other apps work fine. If I do put the phone on airplane mode the wifi works perfectly and also using data works perfectly. Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! I'm a bit confused--so those apps don't work on wi-fi, but if you're on Airplane Mode and the wi-fi is on, then they work? Or do they only work on mobile data?

Have you tried other wi-fi networks besides your home network?

I'm having the same problem. with the wifi turned on, and airplane mode on, snapchat works. with airplane mode off and wifi on, snapchat doesn't work.
lastly, with the wifi turned off (or connected to a network other than my home network) snapchat works.
mine is different in the fact that instagram and facebook both work, regardless of the wifi issue.

I have the same problem. Snapchat and Bleacher Report will work with WiFi on Airplane mode, but the apps will not work with WiFi when I have airplane mode off. Has there been any updates on this issue?
