Why do I need to unlock my phone to make a call in the car?

[Android Central Question]

Since loading Beta 11 onto my Pixel 3a I have to unlock my phone yo make a call. Any ideas what I need to change on settings? Or is this a known issue?

All my phone's have to be unlocked to make a call with fingerprint/face id or security password

I use Smart Lock and have my car as a Trusted Device, which works fine. I assume you've tried that?
