Why do i not have a mic on my LG keyboard

I have the LG Stylo 2 and dont seem to have speech to text on my keyboard help

Welcome to Android Central! Try long-pressing one of the keys next to the spacebar, especially if it has 3 dots in the upper corner of the key.

You long press on the gear key next to the space bar and pick the Mic

So I have to do this each time I want to use voice input? I'd like a microphone permanently on the keyboard.
