Why do I only have the July security patch?

My 6P is also stuck on 5 July security patch. It part of Android O beta and hasn't received final build yet.... I'm a Project Fi subscriber and the radios seem to be the reason. When I unenroll in the beta system update wants push 7.1.2. So, I keep waiting and hitting check for update what seems like every hour.

I've restarted my phone multiple times, and I've contacted support. They were polite but basically told me to keep waiting.

I was in the same boat as the rest. I'm on Fi and was on beta, but never received the full update. So instead I just downloaded the OTA patch and applied it manually. They released a September OTA that works for Fi/Tmobile/etc. after the original that didn't work for Fi/Tmobile/etc.

I unenrolled from beta, applied update, cleared cache partition, and now I'm on the stable final build. Easy process, too.

Are you on 7.1.2 or on some flavor of 8.0?
Which carrier?
I'm on the DP4 of 8.0 and I'm on Project Fi.
Even when I was on 7.1.2 throughout July and August I received nothing.
I have seen some people comment on some articles saying they're still on the July patch as well.

I was on Android Beta also, (very) patiently waiting for the final update (more concerned about still being on the July security update). My patience paid off with the finished Oreo update coming through today (along with the September security update).

It appears that Google isn't pushing the final build (and therefore the latest Security updates) to Fi users who are running the 8.0 beta build. It's unclear why, but that seems to be the consensus if you read through various threads here.

You can manually load the final build if you want to go to the trouble - other Fi users have done that with no ill effects.

Thanks. It amazes me why Google has so many problems updating their phones while iOS is literally instantaneous across the board. I'm losing faith in Google, but there's no way in hell I'm giving up a headphone jack and switching to Apple.

When you are part of the Beta program, you do not get monthly security patches. Security patches are rolled out with each new Beta release. If you have not gotten the September security patch, you should soon. I got mine a couple of days ago.

My 6P seems to be stuck at the Aug 5 2017 update. Android 7.1.2. Build N2G48C. On T-Mobile
