Why do I see no user data for my SD Card when using Storage App ("Powered by Clean Master")?

I have a Samsung Note8 running Android Nougat Version 7.1.1 and Samsung Experience version 8.5. I am using the native Storage App and trying to see what is stored on my phone--both the internal/native and SD card storage.

That app shows me totals for both the internal/native and SD storage--which is good. It also shows me the "User Data" subtotals for categories like Documents, Images, etc. and even the ability to drill down and see the files for the internal/native storage.

However, it shows all 0s for the subtotals for categories like Documents, Imagines, etc. and no files at all for the SD storage.

Any ideas on why this extra info (subtotals and specific file info) is not available for the SD card storage? Or how to fix???

What MicroSD card have you put in the phone? Can it be read in another device (assuming you did not encrypt it)?

clean master is junk anyway, uninstall it to improve your battery life

It is a Samsung MicroSD. I'll see if I can isolate the issue to that card. Thx for the suggestion.

Thx for that perspective. That would eliminate my concern. It may just be that this is poor software/junk--as you say.

The stand alone "Junk Master" is adware and junkware but no harm using it, it is native part for Device Maintenance even in Oreo..

Don't think you can go wrong with Solid Explorer though.
