Why do my instagram videos only play audio?

[AC Question]

I have a Samsung Galaxy III. When I share a video on instagram, it shows the first frame, then the image turns all white, while the audio keeps playing normally. That's when uploading videos that I took with a different app. When using the instagram camera tool, the audio also comes out distorted. Just uninstalled and re-installed the app and the problem is still here.
Any solution?.. thanks..

Welcome to Android Central! Are those videos you're sharing saved to the SD card or Internal Storage? If SD, then there might be an issue with the SD card--try using Internal Storage to save the video, and then upload them from there.

I looked and the video is stored on the phone itself, so it's not an SD card issue.

yes it does.. well I don't really watch videos with my phone, but I don't remember having problems other than what I believe had to do with the internet connection. Nothing like what happens now with instagram

Right--I'm just trying to figure out if the problem lies with the actual video file.

It occured with various files. Some I had just filmed using the instagram app, some were videos I took with the regular camera and tried to share on instagram, and one was several videos I merged into one using a different app and then tried to post on instagram.
The videos never upload correctly. Last time I tried (the one with the merged videos) just the image was missing and the audio was fine. When I think about it, I did upload a couple in which the image was fine and the audio was missing, and on other times the audio was messed up (in which case I erased it) - that was when using instagram directly.

The reviews on Google Play Store suggest that it might be an issue with the app. Try emailing their support team: android-support@instagram.com

The OP did uninstall the app and reinstall it, so that typically deletes the cache and data in itself. But it wouldn't hurt to try.

My suggestion above was to contact the Instagram developer (assuming you have already tried everything else mentioned in this thread).
