Android Central Question

I just purchased a galaxy s9 plus and am loving it so far except for one issue that is driving me nuts. I've noticed that certain apps such as youtube and Google maps will automatically go into picture in picture mode seemingly randomly and on their own without any permitting from me. I'll be watching a video in the youtube app and it will kick the video player window into a pip mode despite me not pressing home or prompting it to do so. I restore it back to be playing the video in the app only for it to do the same thing again a few minutes or even seconds later. Same thing happened with google maps today I put in directions and wanted to have it display on the main screen window but the app immediately goes into pip mode and confines the directions to a small pip window in the bottom right corner even though I did not request it to do so.

Does anyone know why this happens or if there's anything I can do to stop it? I like the idea of pip mode and can see it being useful but not on its item and doing it when I don't want it to or did not request it to. It's almost as if Android is deciding for me when it thinks I'll want it to be enabled.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you otherwise noticed any false Home button presses? If the button itself is malfunctioning and intermittently registering a press, that might cause this issue.
