Why does Airplanemode go off and on in the middle of the night?

Airplanemode goes off and on in the middle of the night

When I go to sleep I put my phone on airplanemode. But strangely in the night around 04:00 it goes off. I know this because my phone makes sounds because it updates all kinds of services like sms/whatsapp/email etc... Half an hour later it is on again...
I searched my phone looked at all the options a couple of times but I can't find the reason why my phone does this.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

It sounds like an app is set to update at that time and it's switching your radios on. If you have any antivirus installed check the settings. Another possibility could be some specific app from your carrier. Most likely any app doing that should be listed in settings - security - device administrator. Check what's under that list.
