Why does file transfers take so long?

So I was transferring a 40mb file using Side Sync with a USB cable and it took 11 minutes! Why is it so slow? Is there a faster way?

I never used side sync but I moved 1.5 GB just using USB in 7-9 minutes.

Well what app did you use?

I didn't use an app. Just plug it in, it works like a flash drive, drag and drop.
