Why does Google Play Movies continue to show captions?

[Android Central Question]

The problem only happens on the mobile app and the android tv app. I have to manually tap "none" and "apply" each time I watch a movie. The Google Play movies program on the desktop PC does not have this problem??

Welcome to Android Central! What happens if you clear the app cache/data in Settings>Apps​, then open it again and sign back in?
