Why does iphone 7 not get my texts?

I used an iPhone 5s for a few years and have now ditched it for a samsung S9. I have no problem receiving texts from anyone but my friend on an iPhone 7 does not recieve my texts when I reply. This does not happen with other iPhone users I text. Any ideas on how to sort this?

Did you signed out of iMessage when you switched phone? You may need to delete the old imessage thread with your friend and start a new one.

The issue is more than likely his phone. Ask him to go to imessages, filter unknown senders.
With your new phone, you prob being blocked there. He needs to update your contact info on his phone perhaps.

check LTE settings on voice & data. it should be set to data only
