Asus Eee Prime. Freezes on splash screen

Displays the Asus logo and nVidia logo (right bottom) only

Have tried resetting using Volume and Power keys and using the pinhole reset button.

No changes

Re: Asus Eee Prime. Freezes on splash screen

Welcome to Android Central! When you use the button combination, are you actually able to complete the factory reset?

Hi B Diddy
Thanks for your reply.

I have used the button combination and there is no change in the splash screen.

I also have done a factory reset by pressing the switch inside the pinhole with no change.

Any other suggestions
Thanks

Sorry, I don't have any other ideas. It's a pretty old device, so it might be a motherboard failure.

I am told this occurred after trying a firmware update so the motherboard may be OK.
Could a firmware update fry the motherboard?
Is there a way to completely clear the firmware? As I said factory reset using the pinhole switch doesn't help.

A firmware update won't damage the motherboard, but if it's a bad update, it could render the device unusable. The only way to fix it would probably be to flash a new firmware, if possible. I don't know how--you'd have to do a search for that on the web.

Hello Android Users
My Problem is as follows.

My TP is frozen on the ASUS logo in the middle and NVIDIA logo on bottom Right.
Power button for 10 seconds causes it to cylce .
Vol Up and Power puts it into APX mode. (Because my PC recognises that it is in APX)

I found on YouTube a process that seems to work for some issues. Using a program called EasyFlasher you can flash a new ROM. You also have to have a CMD window open.

However the following occurs. The Easyflasher and the CMD screen shows as follows.

>Extracting blob archive..
>Blob extracted!
>Blob size 537604.973632813kb
Running Wheelie..
>Tablet is now ready for Nvflash
>Extracting from blob...
>Cleaning up before flashing...
>Checking file sizes
>SOS size 6038.25kb
>APP size 524288kb
>EBT size 1522.0595703125kb
>LNX size 5244.25kb
Done!

The CMD screen seems to get to Partition 4 before finishing.

However though it says "done" no change to the tablet operation. Still just shows Asus and Nvidia logos.

Has anyone experienced this issue and if so any solution?

Thanks
