Lollipop cell standby OMG battery drain

Have a nexus 5, running lollipop 5.0.1 At first it was fine, but then my battery started draining faster than Sarah Palin's appeal. Now I can only get through the day with the battery saver on, and even so it just limps through the day with little usage. I've reset it a few times to no avail. Please help, I love lollipop, there must be a fix out there that I haven't found searching the forums. Thanks, if you can help, I will name my phone after you . . .

Update: in my desperation I came across this thread:
search (I am not yet allowed to post links) Issue 79567: Battery draining fast on Nexus 5 after installing 5.0

These are real people with the same problem, not poser iphone fanboys or malicious whiners, and it seems there is no real information out there regarding this problem. Help me SOME--bodee

At the end of a day's use, before you recharge, what do your battery stats reveal as the main users of charge?

Re: Lollipop cell standby OMG battery drain

Ok, here's another update: last night I reset it, then charged it. Before I went to bed I turned off all my gmail syncs. This morning it is at 69%. Battery shows cell standby 22%, Android system 3%, google play services 2%, Android OS 2% and screen 1%. It appears turning off gmail sync saved a little battery, but still, 69% overnight with nothing running? Yikes!
