Android Central Question

Hi,

My pixel 2 was working fine for about three weeks before I noticed this problem. My out of the box Google Usb-C charger is only charging my phone in one of the two ways that it can be plugged in.

I've bought a few charging accessories off Amazon to use with my pixel as well and have been using them for a week and a half or so. I really hope these items have not caused any damage to my phone because of faulty power delivery:

Wall charger:
Quick Charge 3.0 AUKEY 18W USB Wall Charger for Samsung Galaxy Note8 / S8 / S8+, LG G6 / V30, HTC 10 and More | Qualcomm Certified

USB 3.0 to USBC Cable:
Anker PowerLine+ USB-C to USB 3.0 cable (6ft), High Durability, for USB Type-C Devices

Car charger which has been removed from Amazon (Suspicious):
Type C Car Charger, Maxboost 36W Quick Charge 3.0 Port+Built-in USB C (3.1) Adapter Cable for Galaxy S8 Plus, Note 8, LG G6 G5 V20, HTC 10,Pixel 2 XL,Nexus 6P 5X,Macbook iPhone,OnePlus,Nintendo Switch

Thanks in advance for any help!

Welcome to Android Central! When you say it only works in one of the two ways it can be plugged in, do you mean plugged into the phone, or into the charging plug?

Did you check to make sure those 3rd party charging accessories were approved by Benson Leung (the Google engineer who took it upon himself to review lots of 3rd party USB-C chargers to make sure they met the correct specs)?

Also, try a different outlet. Some outlets have the contacts on the outside (so the prongs have to be spread apart), others have them on the inside (so the prongs have to be pressed closer). If the outlet doesn't contact prongs that go straight in, you may have a problem plugging something into that outlet turned around - even a lamp.
