Why does my galaxy s3 battery die randomly

So I'll be using my phone and it'll just suddenly die. This started happening about a month and a half ago and it's absolutely angering me. It now dies before it goes down to eighty percent. Do i need a new battery or a new phone?

You probably just need a new battery, most batteries only last a year or maybe year and a half.
