Why does my Galaxy S4 overheat drastically when a charged battery is put in it?

AC Question

My Galaxy S4 overheats drastically when a charged battery is put in it. Help!

My phone has been working well, but yesterday it developed a serious problem. The phone overheats to the point where it is painful to hold, and will not start. I tried a different, fully charged battery, and when that didn't work, I put it in a container of rice, since my location is very humid and the humidity might have worked its way in. After 30 minutes, I took the phone out and it was extremely hot. I removed the battery and let it sit in rice overnight, but I still cannot get it to even power on.

It sounds like your using an aftermarket charger or one not rated for your phone

Actually, everything I have has a Samsung logo. And the battery I used came directly from a Samsung charger, and works in another S4 very well

If there is moisture inside your phone, I think it would need much more than overnight to get it out using the rice method.
