Why does my Galaxy S4 power off and only powers back on if the battery is reloaded?

Galaxy S4 powers off and only powers back on if the battery is reloaded.

Hey all...I have a Galaxy S4 i bought from a 3rd party on Ebay to replace an S4 I had, which dropped and shattered the screen/display. I am having the following issue with the replacement phone...whenever I charge the phone (more then a few minutes), it will completely power off, but I cannot get it to power back on unless I completely remove the battery and reinstall it. The phone then powers back on and is good to go. Now before anyone tells me its the battery, I swapped out the battery from my broken phone to see if I got the same results and I did get the same results.

Is this just a defective phone? Is it a setting issues? Or?

Welcome to Android Central! Sounds like a defective phone. I can't say exactly why it's doing that, but it sounds like some problem with the power circuits.
