Why does my Galaxy S5 update with data and wifi turned off?

why does my galaxy s5 update with data and wifi turned off?

I have both wifi and mobile date turned and my Verizon galaxy s5 with lollipop turns my data on and starts to perform an update. I go to my quick data button and it shows that data is off, but on the top of the phone it shows data is on. The only way to stop the download is to turn on airplane mode.

Hi there,

I am also a Verizon S5 owner and was volun-told to update my phone. After I denied the update, it just started automatically. Unfortunatley, I don't think there's a way to control it.

It's probably what's best though
