Why does my HTC Desire 510 touch screen get stuck when I swipe?

HTC Desire 510 touch screen gets stuck when I swipe

I recently bought a brand new HTC Desire 510 and it has a problem with the touchscreen. I activated "show pointer location" in developer options to see where it detects a touch. Sometimes while I'm sliding my finger across the screen, the pointer stops moving and remains there even after I lift my finger away from the screen. Sometimes when I swipe, the pointer doesn't disappear after the swipe and again, stays there. When I touch the area around it again, it disappears. It sometimes happens when I tap, too. Is this a software issue or a hardware issue and has someone had it as well?

Basically you bought a budget phone and HTC cut corners in its production
If you check the web youll find no solutions for this problem with HTC playing dumb about it
try to get a different replacement from provider preferably not HTC.
Use any warrenty options to get rid of a useless phone.

And publicize the issue as much as possible,
