Why does my Keyboard have seizures when using Facebook?

Keyboard seizures on Fbk

Hi all,

My Google keyboard has gone mad. And not just on one device. It was mad on my old gnex, it's mad on my newer s4, and it's mad on my nexus 10.

And it only goes mad on one site: Facebook.

When I try to write something on Facebook, it looks something along the lines of:

When I try to wwwwwwwww hirIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Happens if I try to continue typing, and especially if I hit backspace. Multiple letters will appear and string themselves in nonsensical patterns. Autocorrect follows the strings of letters, and sometimes it blinks in crazy ways and I can't get to my punctuation.

But it still happens after I've turned off predictive text.

It's driving me a little crazy. More conundrums:

- Again, it happens only on Facebook in Chrome (native and downloaded) using Google keyboard (both native and downloaded) on both the mobile and full sites.

- Clearing the keyboard's and browser's cache/data can slow it down a little sometimes, but does not in any way resolve the issue.

- Happens across all my devices, newer and older.

- Happens repeatedly once it has started, but hard to predict when it will start.

Please help, it is maddening!

Welcome to Android Central! This doesn't directly answer your question, but does it work on the Facebook app? Any reason why you don't use it?

Skeezy permissions All the big companies track you, but Facebook is more 3rd-party pii than most. I'd rather cookies than access to my phone data.

I downloaded a client and it seems to work ok-- but on my tablet I prefer the better functionality of full site.

And sometimes I write a post and it ignores what I wrote and posts blank. Wtf?
