Why does my lg destiny phone keep going to lockscreen?

It started out as only doing it occasionally, but it has been doing it more and more. Whenever I watch a video on my phone, the screen will go black (screen is still on) and the sound will continue to play for a few seconds, before booting me to the lock screen.

Welcome to Android Central! What app are you using to watch the video? If it's the browser, that won't prevent your screen timeout from happening.

Sorry, had to create an account. It does it on Chrome, and the youtube app. @B. Diddy

YouTube should definitely override the screen timeout. Do you have any power-saving modes turned on, or 3rd party battery-saver apps installed?

How long does it take before the screen goes black? Is it always the same amount of time?

Do you have any magnets nearby, or a smartcover-type case? If so, the magnet could be triggering the smartcover sensor to shut the screen off.

It does it at random times. As for magnets or smartcover cases, no. I do have a regular phone case on it, but no magnets

It doesn't seem to do it in Safe Mode

In that case, it's probably some app you installed that's causing the instability. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem goes away.

I uninstalled one of the games I had, and that seemed to have worked
