Music player stops when I unlock my Galaxy S5 Mini

Hello,

I've bought new S5 mini this week and I noticed that every time I unlock the screen the music player automatically stops. I checked in the config if there's any option that indicates the player to do so but there's nothing about it. Has anyone got any advice? Or do you think this is a but that needs fixing?

Hi just tried mine and it continues to work fine after unlocking. I use the fingerprint unlocking method. If I press the home key when its locked the screen shows the music player plus the fingerprint swipe. you can control the music without unlocking & when I swipe the fingerprint reader the music keeps playing.

Have you tried a factory reset & upgrade to the latest software (after backup). I was advised to do this before using the phone though didn't and had to do it later which seemed to cure my (unrelated) problem.

Not sure if this helps but at least you know it should keep playing

OP, let us know if JiffT's recommendations work for you.

Also, are you using the stock media player or a third-party one? Because I think that could also affect how playback works.
