Why does my nexus 4 starts up and Immediately shut down?

I just bought a new Lg nexus 4 battery from Ebay. I replaced it and turned the power on. It started and immediately after my home screen appeared it displayed "turning off".
I thought it might be because the battery is dead so I plug it in for an hour which during this time it showed the big charging icon in the middle of the screen. When I re-tried to power it on the same thing happened.

When I put my old battery back in it's works just fine (only it drain too fast which is the reason I replaced it from the beginning).

Make sure it has a good charge first, but it may simply be a faulty or poor-quality battery.
