Why does my Note 3 vibrate every time I pick it up?

It vibrates each time I pick it up and can't figure out why it does that? And then, how do you turn it off?

It vibrates when you have notifications and you pick it up. It does that to alert you to the fact that you have missed calls/messages/etc. You can turn it off by going to Settings > Controls tab > Motions > Smart Alert.
