Why does my Note 4 keep resetting my custom ringtone?

Note 4 keeps resetting custom ringtone!

I have a T-mobile Note 4 and it keeps changing my custom ringtone back to the default. I have the same mp3 ringtone from my Note 2 - in the Media/Audio/Ringtones folder. Had them in a separate folder but it still reset. How do I stop it from resetting?

Does it work for a while at least? If so how long? How are you changing it?
Any other things going on that you know of?

Is it on your internal or sd card?

I change it through the Settings/Sound/Ringtone option. It lasts for a while but never stays more than a day. The mp3 file was on my external SD card but I moved it to the internal storage - same problem.

Did you move it or copy it? i ask because you might still be selecting the one on the SD Card instead of the one on your internal memory. Once it is on the internal memory, it should work fine (if you select the right one)

I moved it. It is not on the external SD card anymore.
