Why does my Note 5 show so little available storage???

Hey everyone!
There's something i don't understand , and i'm hoping someone can understand it. My note 5 is 32GB version. Currently, it's plugged into my laptop, and it shows it as 847mb free of 24.8GB. Now, i understand the system uses up the balance of the 32GB, which is 7GB. But....i opened the files on the phone,,i right clicked on properties,,and i added up all the file sizes,,and it only added up to 6.8GB...so...where is the balance, mystery 18GB that is supposed to be free????

Does the phone's memory report show the same 'Available Space' as your computer? It should give you a very good overview of where the space is being used and by what...

Thanks mate! It seems that most of the space is being used by all the Oculus apps for the Gear VR
