In general, there's no doubt the P30 Pro has a great camera. But 90% of the time, I'm taking photos of my dog, a Pomeranian-Husky cross with long ginger hair. And the camera just doesn't seem to like him.
If he's sat down inside, there's generally no problem. But when running around outside, or if his hair is blowing in the wind a little, I get some really weird results.
The first problem, is most photos of him running around just give me a perfectly focused background with a blur of a dog. There doesn't seem to be a sport or action mode for capturing moving objects like my old iPhone. Is there a way around this without having to fiddle around in pro mode (or at least a quick and easy Pro mode fix)?
Secondly, I'm not sure if it's his hair blowing in the wind or if the camera is detecting my dog's fur as skin and applying some sort of smoothing effect, but it sometimes does this weird thing that makes his fur look like an oil painting. Any ideas?
I usually shoot with the standard lens with AI on.
Thanks,
Neil
