Why does my phone delete stuff when it dies

I have a HTC one m8 and it died and when i charged it and turned it back on it logged me out of my wifi, my facebook, my gmail and my lock screen wasnt working until i restarted it in the settings and restarted my phone... my brother aslo has a HTC onem9 and when his died his contacts got delete!!! I never had this problem or heard of the phones doing this sooo whyy

Not sure, but you should avoid letting the battery get so low that it shuts down at all reasonable costs.

Welcome to Android Central! When you recharged and turned it back on, did it seem like it went through a factory reset? Or was it just that your accounts had been logged out?

Agree with Assassin Droid--don't make a habit of letting your battery drain completely, because that can shorten the overall lifespan of the battery. Since you can't remove the battery in the M8, that can have some significant consequences down the line.

Re: Why does my phone delete stuff when it dies

I have the HTC One m9 and my phone constantly has been doing this lately!! I also have problems w the apps; I keep getting persistent notifications that "Sense Home has stopped working " and that "Google Play Store has stopped working". Did you ever figure out why your phone was deleting everything?

Bad battery...? my m8 does nothing like this when battery dies..I think it's a sign of bad battery but I may be wrong...

My battery has been acting up and shutting down with it says it has 40-50% of juice. Oftentimes when I plug it in and turn it on, my widgets and/or settings are gone or changed. I've about had it!
