Android Central Question

The mic is working just fine, and all apps have permission, but the only app that picks up audio from my mic is the phone app. Nothing else pics up audio. I cant use google assistant, or tune my guitar .I have checked permissions, and everything is how it should be.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using a case? Make sure the secondary mic (at the top of the phone) isn't blocked, and is clear of any debris. Remember that many apps will use the secondary mic rather than the primary mic (which is at the bottom of the phone), so if the secondary mic is blocked or faulty, that could cause your problem.

That's surprising, I would've thought it'd be the other way around. When you speak to people on the phone (using the primary mic, not speakerphone), do people ever complain that you sound soft or muffled?

Is the phone still under warranty?

It is not. It arrived broken, and the company I bought it from refused to repair it when it was under warranty. I got it repaired just when it was out of warranty by an external business.

and no. People hear me perfectly when I am talking on the phone. My Dad is hard of hearing, and hears me perfectly.

No. Sorry for the confusion. When I received the phone originally, the motherboard was damaged, and not attached properly, causing it not to charge. This was however, recently fully repaired by a credible local business. It wasnt to do with the microphone
Ok thanks , im thinking it got damaged but couple other questions , do you mess with developer settings or accessibility on the device?

I do not know what that is, so I have not. However, because this used to be my dads phone, before I got it repaired, there is a chance that he messed around with the accessibility settings. Could this be it?
You should be able to reset accessibility if anything was touched by going to settings>general management>reset >reset accessibility can also fgve reset settings afterwards a try
