Why does my phone shut down every time I plug in my earphones?

My phone shuts down every time I plug in my earphones.

Hi, my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. Every time I plug in my ear phones the screen freezes and it shuts down. Then it will try to go on again but it can never get past the Samsung logo. Please help me.

Hi my phone is just like yours and when the earplugs dont work another earplug does!! I'm not sure why but it does.
