Why does my phone suddenly create "Phantom Touches"

I've been having problems using my phone, especially my keyboard when my phone suddenly creates this phantom touch patterns, '5666vg6ygy6y'

Those are usually the keys pressed when the glitch happens, swiping the screen up and down on its own, please help.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Do you have a case or screen protector on? If so, does this persist if you take both of those off?

Also, does this happen in Safe Mode?

It sounds like there might be some thing on your screen causing it. Do you have a screen protector and a case? Try taking your case off and do a thorough clean job of your phone screen and around the edges. Clean your case as well.

Swollen battery might also be the cause.
