Why does my phone turn off for no reason?

My phone is turning off for no reason

So whenever i disconnect my phone from the charger it turns off in 2 mins and i can turn it back on but it instantly shuts down even if its on 100% so i can't use my phone unless its on a charger. Is the problem in my battery or something with my phone, don't want to buy a new battery if its not the problem please help thanks

Hard to tell if it's the battery or the phone. What phone do you have? How old is it? Is it the original battery? Can you borrow a battery from a friend, or family, who has the same phone and try theirs?
