Android Central Question

I cannot transfer files between my ACER WIN 8.1 build computer and Android 7.0 Nougat phone. I am usually asked what connection because i defaulted being asked "Everytime I connect a Device" on what to do. My sync cables all work on my older phones that run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and a phone with Android 5.0 Lollipop. MY other USB devices all work and my computer chimes when they are connected. I have a Metro PCS, LG MS210 "Aristo". Strangely enough this issue didn't begin UNTIL, I had confirmed a system update from Android for the 7.0 Nougat. Before the update it WAS still the 6.0 Marshmallow. Simply put, the notification panel no longer shows the battery charging and does not chime WHEN i connect to charge or transfer files. Even the battery indicator on the top right SHOWS it's charging with the lightning bolt on it, but still makes no sound when connected to the wall charger. I can't believe it to be a hardware issue when this started AFTER I completed the system update. So now I have 8 GB of pics and music to remove with no way of doing so. Anyone got any Ideas?

You can try a different cable of better quality. Usually a shorter cable works better.
I have 3 phones at home plus one tablet, and two of the devices refuse to work with one usb cable in file transfer mode, the other two are OK with the same cable.

It's either a bad cable or, more likely, the microUSB port on the phone became loose, and has to be replaced. Can that happen at the same time that you get an update? Sure.
