Why does my S5 say I have no storage left?
My S5 says my storage space is running out, but then when I go to storage settings it says I still have almost 500mb available. Why is that? How do I fix it?

I'm guessing you're referring to your phone's internal storage not the SD card?
do you download tons of stuff and take lots of pic's & vids?
Or are you on the conservative side but just seem to have lost all your internal storage?

Yeah, my internal storage. I think I'm pretty conservative when it comes to my phone storage. I'm just confused (and annoyed) that i can't download an 20mb application when it says I have 482mbs left. I also have a 16gb SD card and I've transferred all the applications I can onto it and all my photos/videos and music.

The s5 will stop some normal functions if you use to much storage. Im certain you should keep at least a gig free at all times. I would invest in an sd card theres nothing wrong wth your phone its a safety precaution after purchasing the s5 I immediately brought an sd card. I know it may sound like it sucks but do you really want to be unaware your low on space then try to download something important and nada. Ijs

That's not my question. I understand what you're saying. I'm just very frustrated because it says I have half a gig left of internal storage plus 10gigs on my SD card yet I can't download a 20mb application because apparently I don't have enough space. Same with music. All my music is stored on my SD card and I have 9 gigs available but I can't download any more music.... I'm so confused. Thanks for your help though.

Its the one thing that sucks about th S5...the user (you) only have access to less than half of the internal storage capacity of the 16 gig. While you may have 500MB left, a lot of that may be needed to run programs and such. In otherwords, you may not have access to all that storage space left. Also, many programs must be stored on the internal storage and cannot be run from the card. Hope this helps. I know it is frustrating.
