Why does my S8 now have two camera files?

My Galaxy S8+ now has a second camera file (internal storage) that photos go. My primary camera folder is on my SD card with 1200 pics on it. My SD card still has lots of space on it. What'e going on here? Thx

Is your camera set as SD card default storage location?

Welcome to Android Central! You mean folder, not file, right? There will always be a /DCIM/Camera directory on Internal Storage. If you set the camera app to save to the SD card by default, then the phone will also create a /DCIM/Camera directory on the SD card as well.
