Greetings everyone....

I've been battling with a problem quite some time now but to no avail, please you support will be appreciated. below is the breakdown of what happened:

I have a samsung galaxy phone A10e, model no: SM-S102DL, it was network locked to Tracfone. Gladly I found someone who unlocked it remotely. it worked perfectly for 2 weeks and some days, the network started misbehaving- fluctuating seriously, it got to the point that the network become totally bad- no service.

I met the person who unlocked it, he said everything was fine, he hinted maybe the phone need firmware.

Upgraded the firmware from android 9 to 10, still the same, I reflash the phone using the CSC without home to completely wipe the device, still the same.

right now, it appears the case is worse, because the device get hot and the battery drains faster, I noticed the airplane mode will be activating itself intermittently without stopping, *06# and *0011# take forever to load. additionally, when I removed the SIM, the no service still remains, it doesn't change to emergency, and insert SIM only pops up once in a while, intermittently with airplane mode doing its own sideways.

i tried to downgrade it, but no way, I even tried to activate "OEM unlock" but the option was and still not present in the developer option.

I'm stuck I don't know what to do.

please help!

OK let's go back a little because you mixed some terminology in there and we need the straight story if we're to help you.

When you say this person unlocked it for you, do you mean they simply unlocked the device so that you could switch carriers or do you mean they unlocked the bootloader so the device could be rooted?

Firmware usually refers to the software used to identify a device on a carrier's network or identify a device as an unlocked device, meaning it can be activated with any carrier. What you describe is upgrading the operating system or OS.

The other symptoms you describe can also be attributed to rooting. Over heating device, can be caused by overclocking the processor. Overclocking the processor will lead to faster battery drain because you are making the device work harder. Rooting can have adverse affects and almost every rooting guide I've seen warns not to proceed if you are unsure or don't have a full grasp of what you are doing or getting yourself into.

It can often be more difficult to unroot a device than it was to root it in the first place.

If you are having issues with a ROM you installed the best answers often come from the source of the ROM. So check the ROMs guide for more help with anything downloaded.

XDA Developers is an excellent source for Rooting and ROMs.

THANK YOU so much VidJunky for your reply. I really appreciate it.

unlocked- I meant "network unlocked" the phone was locked to tracfone network. but he was able to unlocked it so that I can use any SIM in it.

the device was not not rooted at all.

I downloaded the Rom through XDA. I used frija to fetched the ROM.

Hahaha, you're mixing terms again. You can only install a ROM on a rooted device which you say this one is not.

If you just updated the firmware, the software that says this device can accept any carrier, the issues you describe are a bit alarming because firmware shouldn't do that.

Not to be overly passive about this however, and since they were the source of the upgrade you performed, I feel XDA should be the better place to start looking for answers. We host a small development community here but XDA is centered on development and may have the answers already worked out.

thank you for your response.
maybe I got the terms wrong, but this was what i did:
there's a way to use Odin to upgrade or reinstall firmware on samsung phones. I did exactly that.
it was the right firmware for the device, an updated version- android 10. because android 9 came originally with the device.

sadly there seem to be no solution on the device on XDA, my post there has not attracted any response, same with GSM hosting, the only platform i'm getting responses is here only.

You can flash the phone over and over if the phone is not unlocked the correct way this issue will persist.

the guy affirmed that the unlocking was permanent, I checked the phone info with samkey,it says unlocked. it even brought the SIM inserted.

before it was unlocked, i do receive "invalid SIM" as a response. but now it says no service. when i removed the SIM, the insert SIM alert will pops up immediately but stops once I reinserted the SIM.

additionally the device gets hot if not on flight mode, sometimes the flight mode misbehaves too- it will fades out causing the device to become hot.

me was thinking if it could hardware but I doubt since the device is just bought, the device has not been used for long

Where you bought the device they couldn't unlock ? Maybe return it under warranty?

sadly it I didn't buy it directly, it was sent to my mum from the US. he didn't unlocked it before sending it down. I had to pay someone to unlocked it because I couldn't afford samkey's package for unlocking
