Samsung Galaxy S4 keeps playing the 'Default Notification Sound'

My samsung Galaxy S4 keeps playing the 'Default Notification Sound' even though I have no notifications. I have separate sounds for my email, message and phone notifications, yet the default notification sound keeps playing every few minutes even though I have no notifications. How can I get this to stop without turning off my Message, Email and Call Notifications?

1. Pull the battery out and reset the phone
2. Quit all apps running and clear the ram
3. Go through some of your apps one of the apps may be receiving updates and notifications but not displaying them in the notification bar
